Our story begins decades ago in Calabria, Italy when my Grandfather Dominic and his brothers, Tony and Joe, emigrated to the United States. As with many regions of Italy, Calabria has its own unique flavor profile in their cooking style. When my grandfather and his brothers came to New York, they brought with them many of those cooking styles. The flavors you’ll find in our sausage products are true to the region. In the 1950’s the Taverrite brothers opened the Brighton Food Market, a bustling little corner grocery store in upstate New York. Today I’m bringing you our family recipe for your enjoyment EXACTLY as it was when it left Italy decades ago.
Taverrite’s Italian Foods products are made using our traditional family recipe with only the freshest quality ingredients. Our sausage products are gluten free, dairy free, egg free, nut free, soy free and contain no MSG or nitrates. We ONLY use whole cuts of pork (no crazy pork parts), are Anti-Biotic free and raised without growth hormones and fed a 100% vegetarian diet.
